Overview
Gray’s design for the CarShield Sportsplex transforms 33 acres into a premier, multisport facility dedicated to high-performance training, education and entertainment. At over 325,000 square feet, the complex features four indoor turf soccer fields, two competition-grade ice rinks and a range of integrated amenities that cater to athletes, families and fans. The clear-span structural system allows for uninterrupted sightlines, while the exterior features three full-size outdoor soccer fields, dining areas, concessions and a playground to encourage year-round engagement.

Entry + Mezzanine Experience
The interior layout promotes fluid traffic flow, efficient scheduling and tournament hosting capabilities. Spectators can enjoy elevated views from the mezzanine and coaches benefit from onsite training rooms and direct access to fields and team facilities.
A Field for Every Level of Play
Inside, four high-performance turf fields accommodate 9v9 configurations beneath a single clear-span roof, while outside, three fully lit 11v11 turf fields support regulation play.
Built for Speed + Precision
Two full-size indoor ice rinks meet professional competition standards and serve as a home base for the Prospects Hockey Academy and CarShield AAA teams. Clear-span construction allows uninterrupted views from elevated spectator platforms. Integrated locker rooms, equipment zones and recovery areas create a seamless environment for high-level performance and training.
Beyond the Field
From recovery to recreation, the Sportsplex delivers a full-service experience. Amenities include dedicated team locker rooms, a performance gym, training and recovery spaces, a pro shop, classrooms and multiple dining options.
Amenities + Atmosphere
A restaurant, bar and concessions area, along with a patio and a children’s play area, make the complex a year-round destination for athletes, families and fans. Over 900 on-site parking spaces support major tournaments and events.
The Academy
The Student Academy, located on the mezzanine level, was purpose-built for student-athletes who balance academic focus with elite sports training. It features classrooms, a learning lounge and an observation deck that also serves as a hospitality suite, overlooking the indoor fields, to create a connected and inspiring environment.
Shaping a Community Anchor
Gray partnered with Keystone Construction to bring this ambitious, multisport campus to life, providing comprehensive design services for one of the premier indoor sports facilities in the Midwest. Blending thoughtful design, elite-level infrastructure and elevated amenities, the CarShield Sportsplex is more than just a place to play—it’s a place to train, compete and connect.
