Fireside Financial selected Gray for full architectural, interior, branding, message and website design for their 97 acre site in Creve Coeur, envisioned to become the premier lifestyle community in the Saint Louis metropolitan area. Drawing inspiration from its desirable location along Olive Boulevard, the site’s rich history, natural surroundings and first-class amenities, Olia Village came to life.
Approach + Strategy
Gray’s approach to branding began with thorough research into the site’s history, the client’s goals and a comparative analysis of similar area developments. Based on this groundwork, a positioning statement and naming platform was developed, offering multiple options before selecting ‘Olia Village.’
Brand Origins
‘Olia Village’ is derived from two sources: ‘Olea,’ the genus of Olive trees, symbolizing grace and strength and Olga Monsanto, wife of Monsanto founder John Queeny. ‘Olia,’ a modern interpretation of Olga, means ‘blessed, holy, olive tree,’ paying homage to the area’s history. ‘Village’ conveys a welcoming and communal atmosphere, bringing everyday accessible living to residents and visitors.
Brand Elements
The logo’s signature shape merges the O + V, forming a subtle three-dimensional olive to acknowledge the development’s premier location on the major thoroughfare connecting East and West. The logo and text feature clean lines with a hint of play in the ‘A’ that perfectly describes the balance of Olia Village, an upscale, sophisticated urban locale tucked in a beautiful landscape, offering residents and visitors serenity and excitement.
