The Crossing’s growing congregation requested a new wedding chapel that could serve as a multi-purpose area for meetings or spill over from their main auditorium. A space that remained untouched following a recent addition and renovation, The Loft, was the perfect solution to meet their needs. The Loft was closed off and converted into offices, while the two-story space below became the chapel. The inspiration for the 250-seat chapel was derived from their outdoor performance area with heavy timber framing the chapel. The use of reclaimed barn wood and faux timber were mixed throughout, providing the timber look without compromising the roof’s structural integrity. Two large rustic chandeliers along with strategically placed accent lighting highlight the heavy timber construction. There is a separate beverage bar and soft seating area with a stone fireplace for a more intimate setting adjacent to the chapel area.
