Project Overview:

The MU Student Center, formerly Brady Commons, combines a new and remodeled structure into a single facility, occupying an entire city block. Originally built in 1963 to accommodate 15,000 students, Mizzou’s enrollment today is over 30,000, which made the phasing of this project extremely critical. Gray Design Group was contracted late into the first phase to provide the glue necessary to unify the design process, particularly when working with over 20 client groups. Located at Main and Main, this facility essentially serves as the campus family room. MU wanted the new student center to exude spirit, history and pride in accordance with their rich campus tradition. Gray created these visual cues through the primary palette of black and gold with splashes of crimson, tiger-patterned carpeting, sconces with tiger stripes and logoed lighting, among a myriad of other details.
