Overview
The Crossing Church presented Gray with a specific challenge: directing visitors to the building’s main entrance, which is less visible than other campus entrances. The design strategy for each signage component drew inspiration from the natural prairie environment and the church’s architectural elements, using mixed materials and irregular angles to complement the surroundings.

Defining the Entrance
Initially, the request was for a driveway gate to improve traffic navigation upon entry. However, additional wayfinding elements were identified during the site survey.

Enhancing the Entrance
Gray proposed a high impact 25’ wayfinding monument that leads visitors to the main entrance. They are led through the campus with the addition of an updated wayfinding system, as well as a future walkway structure, all of which clearly helps define the main entrance and decreases the confusion for visitors during their visit.
Optimizing Navigation
Gray’s solution not only improved traffic flow but also the church’s brand presence. The carefully integrated wayfinding signage system guided visitors while maintaining a cohesive environment, seamlessly blending with the architectural elements.
